Why is it essential to wear sunscreen?

Living in desi household, sunscreen isn’t the product frequently brought or used. Most of us tend to skip sunscreen. Either you go to university or school, or you’re a say at home mom, who steps outside to buy grocery, sunscreen cream is essentially important. There is always a confusion on which sunscreen brand to prefer or is sunscreen even essential to wear. The truth is, sunscreen is essential and basic part of skin care. Here are some numerous reasons you should wear sunscreen.

1.    Provides protection from harmful and dangerous UV rays.

This fact is known worldwide, but we don’t tend to ponder upon it. As a student, we all know ozone layer is depleting, and we have increased risk from the sun’s harmful rays. In desi family, mostly you get to hear adults complaining about knee pain and suggestion is to sit in sun as it’s a useful source of vitamin D, the truth is since vitamin D is essentially important for both skin and bones, but, excessive rays of sun tend to be harmful. When the skin is exposed to UV rays, the cells of the skin get damaged. To repair this damage, extra blood tends to flow to the damaged area, which makes our skin appear red. The UV rays increases chances of discoloration, that is two skin tones, causes skin to become tan, which is nightmare for most of Pakistani girls, more than tan it can also increase chances of cancer and acne breakout.
So why not spend on sunscreen rather than later spending money on treatment creams for acne, or skin colour corrector.

 2.    We tend to look young for long period

Often, us Pakistanis look at Asians and are amazed by their juvenile look, despite their age, and we assume, there secret is consuming a lot of green tea. But here is their actual secret, they have strong belief in sunscreen effectiveness. Even if they step outside in daylight just to visit their neighbors, they don’t skip sunscreen. Sunscreen tends to prevent premature aging; this statement is backed up by a study. The study was conducted on fifty five people, half used sunscreen and half of them didn’t. The results confirmed that those who used sunscreen had 24 percent decreased chance in premature aging compared to those who skipped sunscreen.

 3.    Boosts health of skin

We would love to beautify our skin by spending 1000 rupees on Sephora mask or visiting an expensive beauty parlor for facial, here is a cheap and better way to boost health of skin, you guessed it right, by applying sunscreen. Sunscreen for face have been proven to act as a shield as it protects and locks important protein for our skin such as keratin and collagen, keeping our skin healthy.

 4.    You will not be restricted to full sleeves and socks.

Since we all love flaunting our wardrobe, during day due to sun we tend to be restricted. Mostly girls I talk in university, wear socks and sandals to avoid sun tan. Why look like a fashion catastrophe when you can wear whatever you want without any extra clothing.

Saeed Ghani products review

Buying skin care products from Sephora or the body shop can be a little bit too expensive, some people prefer diys or home remedies, while others prefer using products. Most of us are usually confused where to buy products of skin care from in Pakistan, since most of cheap beauty products tend to have a negative impact on skin, especially those related to skin care. Few months back, mom found a shop where all kinds of skin care products are available, at low rates. I decided to give few products a review. This isn’t promotion of Saeed ghani, but an honest daily use or skin care product I got from Saeed ghani.   1.      Facewash with kheera The packaging claims that this face wash will make your skin glow, and also acts as a cleanser, while the shop keeper claimed this face wash also treats acne. This facewash consists of cucumber   Description: The face wash is in green colour with gel like consistency, with a horrible scent of cucumber. Af...

IoBM food review

The thing that I was most excited about in university, in my first semester, was food. I have pallet open to international food, since I grew up eating Italian, French, Mexican or Saudi cuisine, so my expectations from continental food were high, since I am aware of what most of the foods taste like. I don’t usually get time to eat at IoBM, since I have continuous classes, these are few food I tried this semester and thought to review them. 1.      Cardamom Tea If I would want an ultimate life time supply of anything, it would be lipsticks and tea. Tea for me is what coffee is like to any foreign student, I consume three to four cups of tea, daily, to function properly. Although, I am choosy when it comes to the flavor of tea. I love that mild sweet, milky flavor, if the tea is too bitter or too strong it’s a big no for me. Since a levels, when I used to see teachers sipping tea, I used to wish there was tea or coffee available for students as well. Th...
